A note from Live Aloha Foundation: Congratulations to Westchester Babe Ruth 15U boys for wining the inaugural Bases for Bo Baseball Tournament that was held August 16-28, 2024. To celebrate their win and keep the excitement going, the L;ve Aloha Foundation is hosting an on-line silent auction to continue to raise funds for mental health awareness.
The L;ve Aloha Foundation was founded in October 2022 after tragically losing our beloved family member, Lance "Bo" Chavez to suicide. Bo was not only an avid baseball player he was also the son of Rick and Terrie Chavez, Westchester Babe Ruth alumnus. Bo was an USMC veteran, father of five, and huge baseball enthusiast. He was extremely proud of his Hawaiian heritage and made it his mission to spread Aloha wherever he went. He lived by the motto "live aloha" and you would always hear his jovial, "chee-hoo" while in his presence.
The Bases for Bo Tournament aims to continue his mission by fostering youth engagement and creating an enriching environment where young players can showcase their skills and love for baseball. Additionally, four scholarships are given at the conclusion of the Championship game. These scholarships are designed to support the educational and athletic pursuits of young individuals who embody Bo’s spirit and commitment to excellence.
“We are excited to honor Bo’s legacy through this tournament, which emphasizes the importance of community, youth development, and the love for baseball,” said Terrie Chavez, Bo’s mom. “This event is a celebration of Bo’s life and a platform to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.”
Thank you for bidding in our online auction and supporting our mission to prevent suicide and bring hope. All proceeds goes toward mental health therapy sessions for veterans.
We appreciate your support!
